How we calculate this. Figures come from pay ranges published in job postings currently live on Vast Job Finder, not from a salary survey or self-reported data. We use each posting’s starting pay and publish a figure only when at least 25 postings support it. Employers quote pay differently, so weekly and annual figures are converted to an hourly equivalent at 40 hours a week and 52 weeks a year to make them comparable. Travel and contract assignments are shown separately from staff roles because the work and the pay structure differ. Recomputed monthly as inventory turns over.
