The work is performed mostly outdoors subjecting Production Associates to inclement weather such as snow, rain, hot, and cold weather. Some areas of the plant and assigned tasks will be dirty and dusty. Production Associates perform work such as shoveling piles of material, unplugging chutes, as well as cleaning up areas of the plant around crushers, elevators, and conveyors as directed. Production Associates are also required to assist in routine plant maintenance on planned down days. This includes helping with basic repairs and maintaining production equipment including patching holes in chutes and ductwork, changing screens, and cleaning out bins and ductwork. Must be able to operate mobile equipment such as bobcat skid steers, front end loaders, dump trucks, and vacuum trucks as required (on the job training is provided for all equipment). Ensure the plant areas meet or exceed all safety standards for SGI and all work is performed safely. Schedule This is a full-time position. 4 Shifts available, There is no guarantee of shift assignment after initial onboarding Qualifications Must be 18 years old and have a High School diploma or G.E.D. Job Summary: Specialty Granules LLC (SGI) is seeking an experienced Electrical & Controls Technician II at their Plant in Blue Ridge Summit, PA. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is technically curious and demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills. Reporting to the Electrician Supervisor, the Electrical & Controls Technician II works within the Maintenance Department, partners closely with Operations to minimize Plant downtime. Job duties include but are not limited to: Troubleshooting, repairing, rebuilding, installation, and demolition of the plant's electrical equipment and machinery, including motors, panels, generating equipment, lighting circuits, communication systems, etc. Maintain the facility in an electrically safe condition. Respond to process upsets with a sense of urgency. Comply with regulatory governing bodies with regard to electrical installations, mining safety, and occupational health; and with Company safe practices and established procedures. May be required to perform other miscellaneous assignments as directed. Installation of new improvement projects throughout the plant. The Technician will be required to work various shifts and weekends as assigned. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma coupled with four or more years of demonstrated experience in a continuous process atmosphere. A technical certificate or advanced degree is preferred but not required. Must have basic understanding of diagnosing and troubleshooting power and electrical controls using A.C. and D.C. voltages ranging from 6V to 480V. Must have a basic understanding of electrical theory and understanding of National electrical code. Must have a basic understanding of methods and procedures to use for installation, maintenance and repair jobs on electrical and electronic equipment. Preferred Qualifications: A minimum of 5 years or more electrical experience in an industrial manufacturing environment and process monitoring is preferred. Prior experience with single and 3 phase AC motor controls in an industrial environment, including MCCs, soft starters and VFDs. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to work outdoors in a non-climate controlled environment, subject to dirt, greasy, rough terrain, and inclement weather at times and cold weather in winter. Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, to perform work at heights. Must be able to lift up to 100lbs, with frequent bending, standing, and stooping. Must have consistent track record for working safely Must be able to work independently or as part of a team. Must be able to multitask and be able to handle multiple priorities. Job Summary: SUMMARY The Production Technician III supports milling operations with recommendations and direct process improvements. In addition it samples streams of production material to determine if the operation is running according to production requirements and specifications. This position provides leadership to Mill operators and recommends changes to maintain appropriate sizing and distribution of material.
