The Experiential Therapist I will have a working knowledge of a psychosocial functioning of patient/resident groups as well as application of expressive activities within a psychiatric setting. These include, but are not limited to, adventure-based and environmental activities, sports, dance, group initiatives, arts/crafts, music, outdoor activities, art media, psychodrama, horticulture, ropes and challenge course. The therapist leads the collaboration among an interdisciplinary team to develop, coordinate, and facilitate all direct social services interventions to patients assigned to their caseload and their support systems. The therapist utilizes empirically supported therapeutic techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), or family therapy, to aid in the stabilization and recovery of individuals with mental and behavioral health concerns. The therapist creates a safe and supportive environment where patients gain insight into the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and work towards achieving their goals. Therapist may be responsible for other duties as directed by their manager/clinical operations supervisor to support direct patient care as well as system initiatives. The Therapist will work in an acute care setting that includes inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization and/or intensive outpatient services. Schedule: Part -time 32 hours/week (eligible for benefits) This position will be working in our Residential Float pool and would help support the different units/programs within the Residential level of care. The Behavior Specialist is responsible for supporting the delivery of high-quality Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) interventions within Rogers Behavioral Health treatment programs. The Behavior Specialist is trained to assess the function of behavior, develop & implement individualized plans to address maladaptive behaviors, provide training and education to patients and support persons, collaborate within an interdisciplinary team, and monitor progress of behavior interventions making necessary changes and modifications to produce the best outcomes for patients. Behavior Specialists train and work with an assigned clinical leader to design and implement CBT-specific treatment plans to address presenting symptoms. Job Duties & Responsibilities: Provide cognitive behavioral and other therapeutic services including groups, to patients, according to clinical standards of care and under the supervision of the Clinical leader to address patients' specific needs and goals. Participate in supervision sessions with the Clinical leader, communicate regularly on specific patient progress, and adjustments needed to care plan based on observations and response to interventions delivered. Regularly monitor the effectiveness of interventions and make necessary adjustments.
